Weather Policy

Last Updated: December 14, 2023

INTRODUCTION

This policy is designed to ensure the safety and well-being of all our participants, while maintaining the integrity and continuity of our practices, games and events.

To inform our decisions, we rely on the National Weather Service (NWS) for accurate and timely weather information. The NWS advisories guide our responses to severe storms, lightning, hurricanes, extreme heat, and heavy rain, ensuring that our actions are based on expert meteorological data.

Policy Scope. This Weather Policy applies to all Showtime Flag leagues and events held in South Florida. It encompasses decisions regarding practice/game cancellations, delays, and rescheduling in response to a variety of weather conditions typical to the region. This includes, but is not limited to, severe storms, lightning, hurricanes, extreme heat, and heavy rain.

RESCHEDULED ACTIVITIES

League. We will provide one make-up date for each league during the season. However, should more than one cancellation occur, we reserve the right to schedule double headers or adjust the season timetable to accommodate additional make-up games.

We understand the importance of these games to our players and teams. Nonetheless, there are circumstances beyond our control that may prevent the rescheduling of canceled games. While we strive to do our utmost in these situations, we cannot guarantee that all canceled games will be made up.

Academy. In the event of weather-related cancellations, we will endeavor to provide at least one makeup session within the same month. However, due to the frequency of our meetups and potential scheduling constraints, it may not always be feasible to reschedule every missed session.

Camps. We will attempt to reschedule any missed days, but due to the limited duration and specific scheduling of our camps, makeup days cannot be guaranteed.
